TRAINING BREAKDOWN

“This is the moment the penny drops!”

By Emma O’Toole

Happy Sunday!

If you're racing this weekend, good luck! The hay is in the barn so to speak and all that’s left now is to trust your training, follow your plan, and most importantly… enjoy your day, you’ve earned it!

Now, onto what might just be the shortest newsletter I’ve ever written. Because honestly, I could talk all day about the benefits of strength training for runners and cyclists; how it boosts speed, builds power and slows the muscle loss that kicks in after 30 (and ramps up after 60)…

… But none of that matters unless you see it for yourself.

So, if you're still sitting on the fence about strength training, wondering if it's really worth your time here’s your moment of clarity.

Take this short quiz to find out how your strength measures up against the baseline standards for endurance runners and cyclists. It takes less than 10 minutes, and you won’t need any fancy equipment just a few basic items you likely already have at home.

For a lot of athletes, this is the wake-up call… the moment the penny drops… the wool comes off, and suddenly they see the gap and what they need to do to close it. It’s often the fuel that gets them fired up to take strength training seriously.

Because building strength takes time, patience, and a whole lot of grit just like running and cycling do.

So that’s it for this week. One simple question:

Are you strong enough to run and ride?

Let’s find out.

If you need help with starting strength training or looking over your existing programme, please reply to this email or drop me a message here as I’d love to hear your thoughts. Don’t forget to also check out our fantastic free community for ongoing support and help with your training!

Have a great Sunday!
